Cicada Theory, first formed in 2021, is an alternative rock project based out of Baltimore, MD and Philadelphia, PA. Delivering powerful, emotive vocals and elusive yet potent lyrics, the band strives to create a unique sound while also paying tribute to prior voices of the 1990s. Cicada Theory’s sound has elements of indie and jangle rock, as well as some grunge influences, focusing on angsty guitar riffs but also strong melodies. The ethereal vocals layer on top of crisp guitars, and the quiet verses contrast to hard hitting and heavy choruses.
